The Leka System Warm Roof – Conservatory roof insulation

Conservatory roof insulation can only be one thing. The Leka Warm Roof Systemhas been engineered through innovative methods, highly technical design protocols and practical experience to create probably the best conservatory roof system in the World currently.

Old and new conservatories can benefit from conservatory roof insulation improvements and so the Leka system answers the needs that provide better conservatory roof insulation with the visual aspect to match.

Everything you need to know about our process is set our below

Step 1 - GRP Rafters

First, 'Glass Reinforced Plastic' rafters are added to your existing conservatory window frames, including a GRP structural ring beam, rafters and ridge. GRP is not prone to:

  • wood worm
  • moisture absorption such as traditional timber
  • condensation
  • thermal bridging such as bulky Aluminium alternatives.

The beginning of your improved conservatory roof insulation.

Note: Box gutter systems are aluminium and vary between supplier. These are not Leka products.

Step 2 - Internal Leka Boards

Next, internal Leka sheets are added underneath the GRP rafters. The Leka sheets are 100% waterproof and one third the weight of plasterboard.

These sheets have unique thermal qualities as well, but allow for a traditional plaster skim finish to provide a nice visual aspect ready for painting afterwards.

For a more traditional cost effective finish, standard 12.5mm plasterboards can also be utilised as part of the Leka ECO range which (in most cases) doesn’t affect our exceptional U values of 0.15.

Step 3 - Celotex Insulation

Insulated Celotex sheets are snugly fitted with a 15mm gap from the internal Leka sheets.

Celotex is one of the UK's leading insulation specialists, providing high value thermal efficiency and BBA certified and a significant benefit in achieving a better conservatory roof insulation efficiency level. Note that ECO options of Leka roofs may be provided with EPS polystyrene.

Please check with you installation company prior to purchase to discuss your options.

Step 4 - Outer Sheets

Next, strong, load-bearing and insulated outer sheets are added. These ensure less roofing bars and higher efficiency.

Our Leka outer boards have been engineered to offer:

  1. A structural alternative to plywood
  2. A significantly lighter alternative to any other roof covering board
  3. A 100% waterproof outer covering
  4. A thermally efficient board

The Leka external boards are then covered with breathable membrane to add an additional weather proofing option.

Membrane is laid across the external boards and down into the gutter system to enable a continuous path for rainwater to travel.

Step 5 - Tiling

After a high-grade breathable membrane is fitted, carrying through into the gutter system, a premium Slate or Metal roof tile system is added.

Both Tapco, Britmet and Metrotile offer a classic roof finished tile dependant on your property and required cosmetic look.

These lightweight alternatives to concrete tiles or slate really do make the LEKA systems overall finish stand out as much as the main structures attributes do.
